Far Infrared Sauna therapy now available!

We are excited to offer this unique healing technology at our Centre which offers numerous health benefits. Far Infrared Sauna (FIRS) is an effective, proven means to rid the body of excess toxins. Our bodies store toxins from the environment, food and drugs and without a means of clearing them out can result in poor health. The benefits of de-toxifying our bodies are far-reaching including:

Pain relief from fibromyalgia, arthritis, muscle spasm…
Strengthens the immune system
Weight loss (up to 600 calories in 30 minutes)
Reduces stress and fatigue
Lowers cholesterol
Reduces cellulite
Improves circulation, lowers blood pressure
Reduces swelling
And more

FIRS does not have the high heat of regular saunas so is tolerated better for those who have difficulty with high temperatures. FIRS use the rays which are the longest and most healthy rays from the sun. A series of ten sessions is recommended for maximum benefit.

CranioSacral Therapy for Babies and Children

By Rosemary Brown-Tucker, RMT

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, safe and effective hands-on therapy for all ages and particularly relevant for newborns and children. CST is an assessment tool as well as a corrective and preventive therapy. A newborn CST session can minimize or eliminate the repercussions of a difficult birth and help ensure good structural balance and health. It is recommended all newborns receive a CST evaluation and treatment soon after birth. Throughout childhood CST is beneficial as children adapt to the process of growing up.

CST treatment sets the stage for the body to most efficiently use its own power to heal. Generally children’s’ imbalances/restrictions correct quickly. Left untreated these restrictions can take more time and effort in adulthood causing pain and dysfunction in the interim.

Among childhood ailments/diseases which may be helped with CST are; colic, breastfeeding problems, developmental delays, ear infections, learning disabilities, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Neurological conditions, chronic pain and more.

To all new parents who are patients/clients of the Network Healing Centre, Rosemary offers a complimentary 15 minute newborn evaluation.

Infant Massage
By Angela Soberal, RMT

Ancient Massage Technique

Practiced for centuries by cultures around the globe, the art of infant massage has been scientifically proven to stimulate a child's circulatory, respiratory, gastrointestinal, muscular, immune and nervous systems, and it is also known to encourage weight gain, calm irritability, alleviate tension, promote better sleep and relieve digestive or gas problems. Dismissed by many as a new age fad when it first appeared on the North American scene, studies conducted by Dr. Tiffany Field of the Miami Touch Institute since 1992 on infant massage have shown parents the countless benefits of this ancient massage technique.

All the Rage

Popularized in the West by Vimala McClure, founder of the International Association of Infant Massage, infant massage has become all the rage as more and more doctors proclaim the benefits of being touched as a means of stimulating brain activity which in turn encourages attentiveness, facilitates learning and can lead to increased intelligence. Because touch is the first of our senses to develop in the womb, infant massage is based on the principle that babies will respond positively to being caressed and cuddled by their parent or caregiver. Apart from the direct benefits of being touched, infant massage is also felt to open the lines of communication between parent and child in a way not easily attained by other means. A great way to show your baby just how much you care, infant massage also helps to reduce the daily stresses of parenthood.

If you would you like to learn how to give your infant a massage, contact Andrea at 725-0988 to schedule your half hour session.

Letting Go

By Dr. Michael Tucker, D.C.

During a recent holiday, I was able to spend time with my teenage son Chris. At that time, I realized that our spines are like our teenagers. Here are twelve similarities.

1. Trying to get our spines and our teenagers fixed is frustrating and letting them to is important.
2.
There can be a lot of drama when spines and teenagers get hurt.
3.
One needs to consistently balance between safety and the freedom to explore risk.
4.
Spines and teenagers can be very painful but very important.
5.
No way to figure them out.
6.
Teenagers and spines rebel when you yell and sometimes respond to whispers.
7.
Spines and teenagers seem to go out for no reason.
8.
Eventually they both stand up for themselves.
9.
If they are unprepared, spines and teenagers end up in trouble.
10.
Spines and teenagers need to move and have freedom.
11.
Spines and teenagers often surprise me with what they have learned.
12.
We have a tendency to ignore our spines and our teenagers unless they are in crisis.
