Somato-Respiratory Integration Workshop
With Johanne Guitard

Monday, August 15th from 7:30 - 9 pm

In this workshop, Johanne will present the theory behind S.R.I, which was developed by Dr. Donald Epstein, the founder of Network Spinal Analysis.  This healing took, also called the 12 Stages of Healing, is the perfect companion for anyone who has at heart a more profound and accelerated progression through NSA levels of care.  SRI allows for body, breath and movement integration.

Johanne will explain Stages 1 and 2, give a demonstration and lead hands-on exercises.  She will also talk about the relationship between SRI, NSA and everyday life.

Johanne Guitard was first introduced to Somato-Respiratory Integration in 1994.  She has since participated in several introductory and advanced seminars.  She is passionate of Network and has been under care since 1992.  She is a consultant in private practice, an SRI facilitator, a counselor, a life coach and a speaker.

The Cost for this Workshop is $15.00.  Please contact Andrea at 725-0988 to reserve your space.

In the Flow
By Rosemary Brown-Tucker, RMT

The craniosacral system and the fascia seem to be involved in linking memory and emotion with the body.  Emotional memory in particular seems to be stored in the fascia and membranes.  When fascial restrictions are released, a memory will often come to light and/or “old” emotions will be experienced.  Releasing the tissue can be a critical step in healing trauma.

While verbally processing during the actual bodywork sessions can be helpful, it is not necessary.  A sensitive and skilled practitioner can “listen” to the tissues to feel where they need to move in order to release.  Guidance from a client is not necessary, and often the connection between an injury and a memory is not consciously available.  During and after sessions, people tend to feel more harmonized with those aspects of themselves.

Letting Go
By Dr. Michael Tucker, D.C.

WHAT KIND OF BODY ARE WE GOING TO HAVE NEXT YEAR?

Contrary to popular belief, our physical body is never older than seven years!  This is due to the fact that the body recreates itself constantly.  Tissue cells die and are replaced by new ones.  Every second we lose about three-and-a-half million red blood cells.  There is nothing to worry about though, for another three-and-a-half million are born to replace the old ones.  Ninety-eight percent of the atoms present in our body today will be gone within one year and replaced by new ones.  The body is more like a river of constantly renewed tissues rather than a frozen sculpture of decaying matter.

Skin cells live for seven days, heart cells for ninety days, while bones cells have a thirty-six month life span.  There is a different life expectancy for every type of tissue cell depending on its function and location in the body.  Life energy, the creative force, is constantly at work recreating our tissue organs.  Life energy or “human electricity” travels via the nerve system to reach every single tissue cell in the body.

When nerves are stretched or compressed, there is a loss of life, abnormal function results and the reproduction cycle of cells is altered.  We either have a slower rate of reproduction which is degeneration or decay, or we have a faster rate of turnover which is uncontrolled growth of tumors.

The question we must all ask ourselves is, what kind of body are we going to have next year?  Is it going to be a healthier one or a sicker one?  Is it going to replace itself normally or abnormally?  Is it going to express more ease or dis-ease?  If already in a state of degeneration and decay, is it going to keep going downhill, or is it going to rebuild itself?   If a state of dis-ease exists, are we going to give our body the potential to heal itself, or are we going to allow it to express more die-ease?

Chiropractic is special in that it utilizes the adjusting of vertebral (spinal) subluxations or blockages that interfere with Life Force expression.  The result is a body that has the potential to reproduce itself normally and recover by healing itself.

In seven years we will have a brand new body, but what kind is it going to be?
